"ECHT HAVELLÄNDER APFELSCHWEIN"

The Echt Havelländer Apfelschwein is fed a special diet of apple pomace and grows up on a family-run farm with a focus on animal welfare. On an area of around 18,000 square meters, there are two large stables with ample free-range runs. The animals with a high proportion of Duroc have 50 times more exercise here than animals in factory farming. They also live in social groups and can follow their natural rhythm. This guarantees aromatic, finely marbled meat with high-quality fat, for which there are no limits when it comes to preparation. The Echt Havelländer Apfelschwein - the best pig in Berlin - is produced by Gut Hesterberg exclusively for Havelland Express.

GUT HESTERBERG PRODUCES EXCLUSIVELY FOR HAVELLAND EXPRESS

Since 1 January 2023, the production of the "Echt Havelländer Apfelschwein", exclusively for Havelland Express, has been located at Gut Hesterberg, around 60 kilometers from Berlin. From pasture to plate: this is the motto of Gut Hesterberg, a farm with a farm butchery that stands for regional quality and artisanal production. The family business cultivates over 1,000 hectares of agricultural and forestry land in the Neuruppiner Land region. Transparency and traceability are more important than ever in food production today. Gut Hesterberg keeps all production stages under one roof: from primary agricultural production to gentle, stress-free slaughtering and processing.

MANUFACTURE

The farm butchery produces fresh meat, sausage, and ham every day according to traditional recipes - refined with natural spices and genuine beech smoke. They have many years of experience and a dedicated team. Four generations of the Hesterberg family, together with around 90 employees, pursue the goal of Gut Hesterberg: the production of high-quality, original food.
