Havelland Express' slogan has always been "Absolute freshness, unique origin". What do you mean by this?
M.K.: We aim to provide our customers with special products from unique producers. We have therefore made it our mission to introduce our customers to smaller producers and as yet undiscovered manufacturers with their very special products. Fresh every day and produced with a lot of heart and passion - that is our claim. We are committed to this.
What distinguishes HavEx from other full-range suppliers in the premium segment?
M.K.: I believe this is primarily due to the fact that we have been a family-run company for more than 30 years and are not part of a large corporation. Our structures allow us to be very flexible and to meet the needs of the market and new trends as quickly as possible. Our customers, as well as our producers, greatly appreciate this. We still take great pleasure in acting rather than reacting. We work with great enthusiasm and absolute customer orientation to find out their wishes and needs and, above all, to fulfill them.
What is your recipe for success?
M.K.: Customer focus and flexibility! But also love the product - after all, this is practically our DNA. What unites us all at Havelland Express is that we love food, enjoy the entire value chain, and (for the most part) also like to cook ourselves. Another success factor is our speed. Because freshness requires speed and that is also part of our DNA.
Finally, a tricky question: regional or exclusive - which is more important?
M.K.: Quality is the first and unconditional requirement we have of a product. Right after that comes regionality. The great thing is that there are now so many great regional products that we no longer have to source them from other countries. We definitely want to retain this uniqueness, which is why we buy particularly exclusive products directly from the producers who make them.
