VANILLE KISTE – THE REAL VANILLA ONE FROM MADAGASCAR
During a visit to her home country, our supplier Andréa and her husband Stefan first came up with the idea of starting their own business in 2016. The motivation behind this was that Andréa’s Malagasy relatives included many vanilla farmers and exporters. Inspired by this new idea, the couple spent the following years delving into the topic of Malagasy Bourbon vanilla, its cultivation, and export. On Andréa's grandfather's farm in northern Madagascar, the entire cultivation and harvesting of the Bourbon vanilla pods is carried out. As wholesalers, we at Havelland are proud to introduce the exquisite products from this sustainable family business to the high-end gastronomy and hospitality industries.
ORIGIN THAT COMES WITH A COMMITMENT
About 80% of the world's vanilla production comes from northern Madagascar. Unfortunately, most of these producers are still not properly compensated, which is why our partners buy exclusively directly from the producers, where the products are grown and produced. This ensures that all parties involved are fairly paid and also guarantees the highest standards. Additionally, with every order, they fund the planting of a tree in the mangrove forests in the northwest of Madagascar to preserve the beautiful nature of the island nation for the long term.

The quality of the products is a top priority for our supplier "Vanillekiste," and each individual pod is thoroughly checked before being sent to customers. This is done manually, and experienced employees ensure that only the best specimens are used. Andréa and Stefan trust their employees completely, knowing how much passion and expertise they bring to the task. However, they also regularly visit the site themselves and are absolutely certain that only the best products are sold by their producer.
